The settlement is located by the footing of the mountains of Keszthely which enclose the Tapolca basin from the West side. It is an excellent place for relaxation with lovely folk style country houses for grape processing, peasant houses and pretentious cottages surrounded by vineyards. The big attraction of the settlement is a Museum of Africa, where one can observe African animals, collections, masai huts, as well as the recently discovered Csodabogyós drip stone cave, which is in fact the biggest dripstone cave of the Trans-Danubian region.
The beach is equipped well and offers quality services. The highlight of the summer in Ederics is the "Bay Beach" swimming competition. This event is organised by three settlements - Balatonederics, Szigliget and Balatongyörök.
